Putting our money where our mouth is!

29 January 2013

We are delighted to be extending the remit of our Young Singers Bursary Scheme to include people up to the age of 35.

We are looking to encourage young singers between the ages of 14 and 35 who may be in full-time education (or taking a gap year) and would like to join us. Or you may have studied music at school, but were then too busy to continue. Perhaps now you would like to pick up where you left off. We may be able to help you regain your confidence with singing lessons.

We hope to attract some 'new blood' for the choir by bringing in some younger voices and to get young people interested in the choral tradition. We hope our beneficiaries will go on to develop this interest in the future, wherever they end up living.

Our bursaries include free membership to Lyme Bay Chorale, sectionals to assist with learning the choir music and five private singing lessons per choir term with a singing teacher from our experienced team.  We have two terms in the year; Autumn (September-December) and Spring (January to April/May). In return, we expect punctual attendance at rehearsals (at least nine before each concert) and participation in the concert.

Young singers who are interested should complete an application form and send it to our musical director, Alex Davies. His address appears on the form.
